'Standard Operating Procedure' is not quite a documentary, though it’s based on the notorious photos that emerged from the Abu Ghraib prison that exposed the torture of Iraqui prisoners by American soldiers.
This docu-drama will make you angry, very angry indeed.
Politics aside, the questions asked and partly answered by director Morris concern man’s – and woman’s – inhumanity to man.
The film is based on interviews with those involved, though most of the interviews are with the Americans when much emphasis has not been afforded the abused and humiliated prisoners.
