Always the bridesmaid – 27 times – Jane (Heigl) hasn’t quite given up on finding Mr Right, she just wonders when it’s going to happen.
Not, apparently, when her glamorous sister comes home from Europe and wins the attention of Jane’s secret love and boss (Burns).
It’s a solid enough romance – in which the excellent Heigl shines – and it manages, surprisingly, to rise above the conventional plot, aided by several other good performances and deft directing.
It’s the sort of nice film that defies severe criticism.
