McKellen keen on reprising Gandalf role
28/03/2008 - 11:55:09

Ian McKellen, who played Gandalf the Wizard in the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy, said he hopes to reprise the role in another tale from Middle Earth, 'The Hobbit'.

On his official website, a fan asks McKellen if he will “again be our Gandalf in 'The Hobbit',” being produced by 'The Rings' trilogy director Peter Jackson and likely to be filmed in his home country of New Zealand next year.

Ian replied: “Yes, I will, if Peter Jackson and I have anything to do with it.”

Jackson reached a deal with New Line Cinema late last year to make two films of J.R.R. Tolkien’s 'The Hobbit', a planned prequel to his blockbuster trilogy “The Lord of the Rings.”
