Robert Altman movie fails to convince
18/04/2008 - 20:00:50

Robert Altman’s 'Streamers' (Metrodome; €24.99) is an infuriating film.

Adapted from David Rabe’s play, this tale of soldiers coming to terms with being sent to fight in the Vietnam war, it fails to convince because the director is lost in translation.

Despite the presence of a decent cast (including Matthew Modine), it’s yet another example of Altman’s chequered career, veering from the brilliant The Player and Nashville to the depths of Kansas City and this.
