Washington set for Bafta honour

Oscar winner Denzel Washington is set to pick up the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film at the Bafta/LA Cunard Britannia Awards later this year.
The Training Day star will be honoured by the Los Angeles branch of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts at a November ceremony at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City, California.
Bafta/LA chairman Peter Morris enthuses: "As both an actor and director, Denzel continually takes on challenging projects, and we are thrilled to honour and celebrate his immense talents."
