'Savage Grace': Moore handles intriguing role with skill

Cast: Julianne Moore, Hugh Dancy, Stephen Dillane, Eddie Redmayne
A murder story based on the scandal that overwhelmed socialite Barbara Baekeland (Moore) and her troubled son (Redmayne) … a fraught relationship that involved money, drugs, incest and death in the early l970s.
It is a well-handled film in that it captures the cloying atmosphere of the time and the indolence of too much money and nowhere to go with it.
Moore makes a wonderfully fragile, ultimately tragic, mother and the whole makes for an intriguing melodrama.
