Another forgettable kung-fu film to underline the futility of the genre, unless to the surely decreasing number of its fans. OK, so you either love ‘em or loathe ‘em.
Still, they’ll probably be satisfied since it delivers what they have become used to: a quest (to travel through time to deliver a magical staff back to its rightful owner in olde China).
For the rest of us it’s merely tiresome drivel without any real purpose, bereft of characters worth bothering about and teetering on a plot of silken-thin plausibility.
Give it the chop.
