So what if neither Pierce nor Colin can carry a tune - who couldn’t enjoy the long-anticipated screen version of the smash-hit stage musical based on the songs of ABBA?
The show’s countless fans will make the film a vast success so it hardly matters that some critics have been a tad snippy...it’s always the fans who determine success or failure.
It’s a happy, sunny serving of entertaining fluff as soon-to-be-bride Seyfried sets out to discover who her father is by inviting the contenders to the Greek island wedding.
The surprise star turns out to be Streep, who can certainly hold a tune and step out in style.
Just enjoy the sheer delight of a sweet candyfloss.
