The overall ISEQ index remained relatively static by mid-morning today, down just 0.51 points to 4,320.75, as gains and losses cancelled each other out.
There was mixed news for the financial sector, with Anglo Irish Bank gaining 12c to €5.39. Allied Irish Banks (down 15c to €8) and Bank of Ireland (down 14c to €5.16) both lost ground. Irish Life And Permanent inched down 9c to €5.05.
After announcing positive results today, Kerry Group enjoyed a 25c jump to €19.25. Elan was also significantly up, gaining an impressive 66c to €9.90.
CRH announced a 10% drop in operating profit today, leading to a 31c fall in share price to €16.40. Elsewhere in the construction sector, Kingspan fell 13c to €6.99. By contrast, Grafton gained 19c to €4.
FBD and Paddy Power both lost 20c to slump to €14.80 and €15.90 respectively.
