ISEQ in negative territory

The ISEQ index of Irish shares was down this evening by 95.10 points to 6152.81 at market close.

The financial heavyweights all languished in negative territory with Irish Life and Permanent leading the way plummeting 50c to €12.30. Bank of Ireland slipped 26c to €9.50 with AIB down 25c to €13.25. Anglo Irish Bank fared better falling just 8c to €8.80.

Elsewhere, CRH took the biggest hit within the construction sector falling 30c to €23.60. Kingspan bucked the negative trend gaining 9c to €9.04, as did McInerney, up 3c to €1.20. Grafton finished the day in negative territory once again dropping 13c off its share price to €5.79.
