Tánaiste: Soaring fuel costs damaging competitiveness
16/07/2008 - 18:11:32

The Tánaiste Mary Coughlan has said that the soaring cost of fuel is endangering competitiveness.

Ms Coughlan's comments come as new figures reveal a surge in consumer prices in the US, mainly due to the cost of fuel.

The increase in June was the biggest since 1982.

Meanwhile, the Government has said that it is working to deal with price increases here in the areas where it has control.
