Truckers and govt officials to hold further talks
04/07/2008 - 13:52:51

Truckers say they have received no financial commitments from the Department of Transport to help them deal with rising fuel costs.

The Irish Road Haulage Association held talks with officials from the department this morning to discuss the situation facing the industry.

The association says the officials refused to give a commitment to any financial measures today, but did promise to consider the hauliers' proposals before meeting for further talks on Monday.
