Expanded Carnew Mart can cater for 5,000 animal sales weekly

Livestock and property specialists the Quinn family have opened an expanded facility at Carnew Mart in Co Wicklow, which can now accommodate over 1,000 cattle and approximately 4,000 sheep at weekly sales.


The new facility was formally opened by Food Minister Shane McEntee. He congratulated the Quinn family for having the foresight and commitment in creating this modern facility.

"Carnew Mart is equipped to face the challenges of the 21st century marketplace and sets a standard that is appropriate to a rapidly changing agricultural environment."

Mr McEntee emphasised that livestock marts play a pivotal role in the livestock sector and have served farmers well.The mart has been operating for 47 years.
