Former Kerry Gaelic football player Tommy Doyle has joined the Blue Haven Food Company in Kinsale, Co Cork, as general manager.
Mr Doyle, a winner of seven All-Ireland senior football championship medals with Kerry and captain of the 1986 team, received three consecutive GAA All-Star awards in 1984, 1985 and 1986.
He brings extensive experience in sales, distribution and production to the general manager role. He will be responsible for developing the business, managing the production and sales teams. He will also develop the brand in Ireland and overseas.
The Blue Haven is a catering and food manufacturing company, which produces gourmet food products for the retail, hospitality and export markets. The company has won numerous awards for its "Fresh from Kinsale" range of products, centred around seafood, but with a range of gourmet food products across a number of food categories.
The range is available nationwide in stores including SuperValu, Centra, Tesco, Dunnes, Eurospar, Mace, Superquinn, Fallon and Byrne, Fresh and others.
