Terriers chase Irish midfield pair

Saturday, June 16, 2012

The Irish central midfield which finished the game against Spain could be playing together at Huddersfield Town next season.

Paul Green and Keith Andrews, who lined up against Xavi, Iniesta and Fabregas on Thursday night, have been identified as targets for the newly-promoted Championship side.

Manager Simon Grayson confirmed the Republic of Ireland pair are targets that fit in with the Terriers’ budget.

"After talks with both Dean Hoyle [chairman] and Nigel Clibbens [chief executive] I’ve drawn up a list which is realistic within our budget," Grayson told The Huddersfield Daily Examiner.

"We’re working hard to bring in those concerned and I have had talks with two players and a number of agents.

"We’re still at that stage where the market is relatively slow, but I’d like to get as many of the deals done as soon as I can in order to have the bulk of the squad together for pre-season."
