Charging for pay hikes

I don’t think people realise that if every household pays the €100 charge the Government will only take in €160m.

They will still be short around €150m for public sector pay rises for this year alone. So people should be glad it’s not €200 for the charge, to cover the full cost of the pay increases. Of course they could do it another way — cancel the pay rises.

Then you could cancel the household charge and the Government would still be up €150m.
