Photo op splits Coalition

Fine Gael is trying to award itself “medals” for completing a year in government, a senior Labour source said.

Labour is unhappy about a Fine Gael photo session today ahead of tomorrow’s first anniversary of the Coalition. The photo op in Dublin’s Merrion Square will see Fine Gael TDs and senators “hold coloured stars detailing significant Fine Gael achievements in government”. A senior Labour source said it was “inappropriate. It is utterly misjudging the public mood”.
