Dublin: Paddy Power Plc, Ireland’s biggest bookmaker, said it will raise its offer to sponsor golfer Tiger Woods after a previous bid worth as much as €55 million over five years was rejected.
"Paddy Power remains keen to work with Tiger Woods and will re-engage with him," sports management company IMG said. "An enhanced offer will be made."
Golf’s 14-time major-tournament winner has lost sponsorship deals with Accenture Plc and AT&T Inc after saying he was unfaithful to his wife and was taking an indefinite break from golf.
"We went into it quite honourably; it’s absolutely not a publicity stunt," Paddy Power spokesman Ken Robertson said.
