Manufacturing production rises

INDUSTRIAL production in Ireland’s manufacturing sector rose a seasonally adjusted 0.9% in the three months ending June when compared with the previous quarter.

On an annual basis, production was 0.4% higher than in June 2004, the CSO said.

The so-called modern sector, comprising several high-technology and chemical industries, showed an annual increase for June 2005 of 0.5%, while a 0.3% increase was recorded in the traditional sector.
