Parents go back to school armed with teachers’ tips

MORE than 50,000 children started school this week, with many of their parents returning to the classroom for the first time since their own childhood.

The Irish National Teachers’ Organisation (INTO) yesterday chose Scoil Bhríde in west Dublin to unveil its latest book of tips, written by teachers, to help parents cope. INTO vice-president Denis Bohane said Dublin 15, where the school is located, is one of the country’s most ethnically diverse areas.

Reflecting Ireland’s growing multi-cultural society, the 50,000 copies are printed in Irish, English, French and Polish.
