Rovers’ 400 Club raises €50,000

THE Shamrock Rovers 400 Club has already raised €50,000 in its bid to buy the club, since launching the initiative at a public meeting in Dublin last week.

The fans’ organisation is now extending the period of its fundraising efforts to give other supporters an opportunity to subscribe.

The fans’ bid is understood to be one of seven up for consideration as Rovers undergo a period of examinership. The 400 Club is urging supporters to find out more about the initiative at shamrockrovers400club@hotmail.com.

Meanwhile, progress has been made in the dispute between the National League Supporters Association and the FAI over ticket allocation for the Israel home game and other international matches.

A joint working group has been established which is expected to meet four times a year.

FAI Chief Executive John Delaney acknowledged the support of the NLSA and said that the association “looked forward to building on our relationship with them for the future of the game at national and international level.”
