Get rid of gun salutes

I WATCHED most of Charles Haughey’s State funeral on TV. It was quite impressive and dignified.

I would have preferred, however, if there had been no discharge of shots over the grave. After all, we have had enough of “gunnaí screach” and there can be State funerals without this.

The young people of our new and peaceful Ireland do not want this.
